Abstract
The research investigated the relationship between organizational innovation, knowledge
management, and project management performance in healthcare facilities in Eastern Uganda. The study was based on three objectives: to examine the relationships among organizational innovation and project management performance, to examine the relationship between knowledge management, and project management performance, and to examine the predictive potential of organizational innovation and knowledge management on project management performance. The study employed a cross-sectional design with 123 health facilities in Eastern Uganda, with 118 respondents participating, yielding a 96% response rate. The data was subjected to reliability testing and analyzed with SPSS v23. The findings were articulated in accordance with the study goals. The results indicated a substantial positive link between organizational innovation and project management performance. The study demonstrated a substantial positive correlation between knowledge management and project management performance. In all, organizational innovation and knowledge management explained 49.6% of the variance in project management performance across health facilities in Eastern Uganda. Furthermore, the study identified knowledge management as a stronger predictor of project management performance among health facilities in Eastern Uganda than organizational innovation. As a result, the study recommended that Health facilities in Eastern Uganda should emphasize knowledge management through creating an enabling environment, knowledge stock and knowledge practices among their stuff in
order to enhance project management performance. Future research could explore other factors contributing to project management performance among health facilities in Eastern Uganda, as the current independent variables only account for 49.6% of the variance.
