    Digital Innovations Adoption, Dynamic Capabilities and Sustainability of Off-Grid Solar Energy Businesses in Uganda.

    The research project sought to examine the relationship between digital innovations adoption, dynamic capabilities, and sustainability of off-grid solar energy businesses in Uganda. The researcher employed a cross-sectional design and a Mixed Methods Research (MMR) approach. The study combined quantitative and qualitative methodologies of data collection, interpretation, and analysis. The study was conducted in Kampala City with a sample of 80 companies, determined using Krejcie and Morgan (1970). The study adopted a multi-method sampling approach, involving simple random technique for quantitative data collection, and purposive sampling for qualitative interviews. The researcher gathered quantitative data from 64 firms, and conducted seven qualitative interviews in 7 selected solar energy firms. For purposes of quantitative analysis, SPSS (Version 23) was used, while NVivo 12 was employed for deductive qualitative analysis to explore relationships between digital innovations, dynamic capabilities, and business sustainability. The data relating to these findings has been presented through descriptive and analytical statistics, tables, charts, thematic interview excerpts, and triangulation matrices. Results reveal significant positive relationships between digital innovation adoption and dynamic capabilities, as well as dynamic capabilities and business sustainability. Findings further reveal a moderate positive association between digital innovations adoption and business sustainability. Dynamic capabilities emerged as a more critical predictor of business sustainability. The study recommends that off-grid solar energy firms prioritize identifying and leveraging dynamic capabilities to enhance competitiveness and sustainability. Additionally, firms should focus on building positive client intentions towards digital innovation adoption.
